Length expansion coefficient is a length expansion measurement of a material per length unit if the temperature rises 1°C. This tool is one that can be used to determine length expansion coefficient.
The length expansion coefficient is obtained from length changing of a rod that made of certain material which is streamed by hot steam. In this set of apparatus, there are three rods of different material, viz: aluminum, cooper and borosilicate glass.

Hot steam is produced by a generator containing water which is electrically heated, then it is streamed into glass tube using silicone hose. Temperatur changes inside the tube is measured by a thermometer, whilst the test rod expansion is detected by a dial indicator. This dial indicator has accuracy of 0.01 mm which is quite accurate to detect the rod length expansion.
