Recently we have held a workshop on Chemistry Games (Joyful Learning) for Junior and Senior High School Chemistry Teachers on Saturday, October 31, 2013. The speaker was Dr. Yunita, M.Pd. and took place at Pudak Scientific's Science Laboratory Training Room, Gedebage-Bandung.

The participants of the workshop were teachers who have high enthusiasm for the development of Chemistry demonstration. They came from several schools:

• West Java - SMA Negeri 1 Pangalengan Kab. Bandung, SMA Dwiwarna Boarding School Bogor, SMA Islamic International Boarding School
• DKI Jakarta - SMA Santo Yakobus Jakarta Utara
• Banten - UIN Syarif Hidayatullah 

Chemistry games that were performed including:

• Observing candle
• Chemistry poster
• Sexy eggs
• My money burnt,my money intact
• Magic egg
• Whiskey being water
• The action of sodium
• Temperature cooling
• Secret colors of nature
• Happy soda (Indonesian drink)
• Smoldering fires
• Black obelisk
• Burst of chemicals
• Lighting a fire inside water
• Soda drinks
• Fire extinguisher

The participants were very enthusiastic in participating in the demonstrations. Chemistry Games like these for them were very different than other trainings because it creates interest and curiosity, which in return gives exitement for students to learn chemistry.


For the upcoming workshop, we will be having Laboratory Management training. This workshop will be held on November 9, 2013, with Dr. Yunita, M.Pd. as the speaker and open for teachers on Junior and Senior High School and laboratory assistants.
