On the end of November 2014 Pudak Scientific held training for mathematics teachers of elementary school, junior high school, and high school. The speaker for this training was Dianne Amore Kusuma, S.Pd, M. Pd., a lecturer of Mathematics Department of FMIPA, Universitas Padjadjaran. This training was attended by 26 participants who were mathematics teachers from West Java, DKI Jakarta, and Riau.

In this training, Mrs. Dianne Amora Kusuma described the conditions and obstacles of mathematics learning in school and expressed that, “There are two things that should be done to be a good teacher, teaching with hearts and become a servant for students.” She also said that a fun situation should be developed during mathematic learning process in school.

In this training, Pudak Scientific team also introduced various educational aids that can be used in mathematics learning process in school. Participants were very enthusiastic during practicing and exploring the usage of the educational aids. One of Pudak Scientific’s team said, “During mathematics learning process in school, teachers should use educational aids to help student in understanding the subjects.”

The educational aids practiced by participants were for:

• Calculating the operations of addition, reduction, multiplication, and division of positive integer by using Mathematical Balance
• Calculating addition and reduction operations of integer by using Integer Bar
• Calculating operations of addition, reduction, multiplication, and division of the of integer by using Integer Coins
• Having selling and buying transaction by using Money Model
• Grouping plane figures based on the shape, color, and size
• Making circle diagram by using Statistics Model
• Making plane figures coordinates/mirroring by using the Coordinate Model
• Quiz of calculating the figures of addition, reduction, multiplication, and division of integer by using Arithmetic Games Electronics
• Calculating probability by using Probability Model
• Calculating limit value by using Infinite Geometry Model (geometry, a half, one third, a quarter)
• Proving the Pythagoras theorem by using Pythagoras Model
• Calculation operation of algebra by using Algebra Blocks
• Calculating permutation and combination value by using Permutation and Combination Model
• Identifying shape, frames, volume of plane figures by using Geometric Models

Our next training will be “Science Lab. Management Training for Teachers and Laboratory Assistants” that will be conducted on December 6, 2014, with Dr. Yunita, M.Pd. as the speaker.
