Most teachers and lab assistants have been trapped in the idea that the limitation of laboratory management is due to the limited funding for laboratory development and unsupportive system. Through this lab management training, Pudak Scientific aimed to emphasize the importance of goodwill and hard works to manage an ideal laboratory.

Dr. Hj. Yunita, M.Pd., the speaker of this training, explained about the importance of goodwill and hard work to reorganize a disorganized laboratory. She told a lot about her experience in managing school laboratories in high school for 30 years and performed it with trainer from Japan.

"You - teachers - don't have to bother reorganizing your lab by yourselves, you have students. Tell them to do it. They certainly will be happy as they will find new things when they are reorganizing the lab." Mrs. Yunita said.

After the session with Dr. Hj. Yunita M. Pd, participants had a factory visit to have a closer look at the making processes of laboratory equipment, therefore participants will better appreciate the laboratory equipment available in their school.

Training participants that were from 3 provinces and 8 different regions, which include Bekasi, Indramayu, Bandung, Jakarta, Cianjur, Serang, Cimahi, Tangerang, were also invited to perform practices such as:

• Using fire extinguishers
• Making solution
• Microscope repairing
• Using basic mechanical measuring devices
• Making electrical circuits

The final activity was evaluating the understanding gained from the training by answering evaluation questions handed out.


Our next training will be the “Training of Physics Practices on Fluid and Thermal Concepts”, which will be held on June 14, 2014. The speaker will be Dr. Lilik Hasanah, M.Si. (complete schedule).
