In line with our commitment to enhance the competence of junior and senior high school teachers and laboratory assistants, on September 13, 2014, we held the Laboratory Management  Training.

This event was our the second collaboration with Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI). The training took place in Physics Laboratory of Prodi Pendidikan Fisika, UKI - East Jakarta.

The training was attended by 53 participants from various regions in Indonesia. Participants attending this event had the same goal, for a better school laboratory, in terms of organization structure, tasks management, administration, equipment and material storage, and laboratory utilization.

The training held in Pudak Training Center usually had one speaker, this training presented two speakers, who are Dr. Rachmat Hidayat – a physics lecturer of ITB -  and Mr. Manogari Sianturi, S.Si., M.T. –  the chief of Prodi Pendidikan Fisika UKI.

Beside material presentation from the speaker, participants were also invited to do practices of laboratory utilization. The practices included:

• Practice of animal respiration rate using respirometer
• Making the leaves stomata preparations
• Demonstration of tools and chemicals care and maintenance.
• Practice of effort and energy concept by using air track
• Experiment of harmonic oscillation on a spring
• Measuring the electric scale of AC and DC current

Hopefully there will be another training events held in cooperation with various universities in various cities in Indonesia.
