Schools in East Jakarta have teaching aids that acquired from the government, but there is an obstacle in its usage. Many teachers hesitate to do lab work, and some of them have no idea about the function of these teaching aids, as the result there are many abandoned and damaged equipments without ever being used.

According this condition and in order to improve the quality of education in Indonesia, Pudak Scientific conducts trainings in various cities of Indonesia. Recently Pudak Scientific training road show was held in East Jakarta, on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at the science laboratory of SMP Diponegoro, Jl. Sunan Giri No.5 Jakarta Timur. This training was held in cooperation with the MGMP IPA (Forum of School Subjects Teachers of Science) of Jakarta Timur. This training was the third after the previous training in Batam and Madura in early 2014.

This training, on the theme of "Science Laboratory Management", was for Junior and Senior High School Teachers and Laboratory Assistants in East Jakarta. Forty five members of MGMP IPA of Jakarta Timur participated in the training.

Pudak Scientific Technical Support team invited teachers to explore laboratory teaching aids that commonly available in the laboratory, so they will be able to use the tools  optimally. It is expected the tools will be broken because of usage, not because of storage. Through this lab management training teachers are now understand the functions of tools and the science lab management quality standard.

The training focused on the tools administration, chemicals substances, laboratory quipment utilization, and safety procedures in the laboratory. Many teachers who attended this training learned what they should actually do during work in the laboratory and how to store the tools properly. As an example: charts are not required to be displayed surrounding the lab, the lab door should have two doors and opened outward, the use of fume hood is only for reaction process, not for storing chemical bottles, and many other matters.

The training emphasized on practices of the theories that usually were merely explained in the classroom such as:

• Basic mechanical measurement using calipers and micrometer screw
• Basic electricity measurement
• Ohm's Law experiment
• Transformer experiment
• Microscope knowledge
• Wet preparations making, with surface coating technique by using nails polish
• Solution preparation
• Using scales
• Water pump experiment

The participants were very enthusiastic in participating in this training, which proved by their questions about the tools commonly found in laboratory.

This activity was also a realization of the "Pudak Cinta Guru" movement. In this activity, each participant received the "Pudak Cinta Guru" pin, in the hope that teachers will know Pudak Scientific more, and so will Pudak Scientific toward the teachers.
