Laboratory in school is an important supporting facility for learning process. With experiment facilities, learning process is not limited to just theories. Therefore laboratories need special attention in usage and mangement. Good laboratory management will make a good learning facility and give good results for students who do experiments in that laboratory.

PUDAK SCIENTIFIC as manufacturer of educational tools and laboratory equipments, sees the importance of laboratory management and the equipments in it. Therefore, Pudak Scientific has arranged Laboratory Management Training for Junior and Senior High School level Teachers and Laboratory Assistants.

A workshop on Laboratory Management Training for Junior and Senior High School level Teachers and Laboratory Assistants has been held recently. This workshop, prrsented by Dr. Hj. Yunita, M.Pd., was held on a weekday, Thursday May 23. However, schools are still eager to send their teachers for this 8 hours training.
Participants were given training on how to organize a good lab according to the size of the room, light illumination intensity, number of students, laboratory furnitures, service stations as well as safety factors. The difference between traditional laboratory and the more flexible modern laboratories was also explained.

At the next session, participants were trained on the organization structure, administration and science lab management, specifically for Natural Studies laboratoris. With the explanation given by the speaker, it is expected that science lab equipments in schools are not just kept it in storage unused.

In the final session, participants were given the opportunity to work on basic laboratory activities that were divided into three activities:

1. Physics Laboratory - power supply testing, testing of iron core I and U, as well as the use of electrical measuring instruments
2. Biology Laboratory - the use of microscope its maintenance and the use of a simple respirometer
3. Chemical laboratory - preparation of the solution and solid-based liquid, use of the pipette filler, use of filter paper, basic technique in using a four arm balance, other basic laboratory techniques

Through this workshop, we hope that the quality of teaching and learning process in schools will improve, which in return will make highly skilled teachers and intelligent students.
