It is wrong that students, even teachers, are assuming that math is a lesson for serious and smart people. Although in fact, students are required to memorize formulas and solve math problems, math is actually can be fun to be learned.
In accordance with the statement above Pudak Scientific held training in the theme of Teaching Aids Usage in Mathematic Learning Process. The training was held on May 24, 2014 and took place at Pudak Training Center. The speaker of this training was Dr. Stanley P Dewanto, M.Pd., a lecturer of UNPAD Bandung. In his presentation he emphasized the importance of inquiry learning, where students are encouraged and motivated to build the concept independently. Therefore, do not make an impression that math is a lesson of memorizing formulas and boring. In addition, he also emphasized the importance of teachers to provide easy problems to be solved by students and it should be relevant to real life.
Dr. Stanley said, "Why learn math like Pythagoras, limit, algebra? Do those exist in everyday life? Students learn math to train their brains in order to think logically and in structure."
In addition to theories, 20 training participants who are teachers from Bandung and Malang, were given the opportunity to try and use the math teaching aids produced by Pudak Scientific.
Our next training will be the “Science and Mathematic Teaching Aids Development Training”, which will be held on May 31, 2014. The speaker will be Ridwan, M.Pd. (
