This workshop was a collaboration of Pudak Scientific and UPT Laboratorium Dasar Universitas Trunojoyo Madura. Many teachers were interested in attending the workshop, which theme was "Workshop of Science Learning Process for Junior High School Teachers", because this kind of training was the first to be held in Madura. This workshop attended by 107 participants who are the Junior High School Science Teachers from Bangkalan and the surrounding areas.
In the first session of this event, the main speaker, Prof. Dr. Agoes Soegianto, DEA from Department of Biology, Universitas Airlangga - Surabaya presented a material about the Implementation of Phenomenon Based Science Learning Process. The next material was the science learning methodology that was presented by Drs. Sulaiman, M.Pd - Science Education Lecturer of Universitas Trunojoyo - Madura.
The Team of Pudak Scientific - Bandung filled the second session by explaining the importance of teaching aids to support the science learning process in schools. According to Dicky Zulfikridin - as the instructor of Pudak Scientific - Bandung, - there is a fact that 80% of teaching equipments damaged due to storage, not usage.
Besides the issue of teaching aids damages, the Curriculum 2013 emphasizes more on the students’ skills, that include the proficiency in making creative and innovative teaching aids and able to use teaching aids as the instructional media in the laboratory.
These are the reasons that encourage Pudak Scientific to participate in workshops organized in Indonesia’s regional area, providing trainings for teachers to be able to optimize the usage of the existing teaching aids equipments. Proper usage of educational aids will help students in absorbing materials taught, both in the classroom and in the laboratory.
