On Saturday, September 13, 2014, Pudak Scientific held science technology training in the theme of “Computer Based Experiment System in the School Learning Process” for junior and senior high school teachers. The speaker for this training was Drs. Janto V Sulungbudi, a physics lecturer of UNPAR, Bandung. The training was attended by participants from various schools of Serang, Tasikmalaya, Garut, Jakarta, and Jombang.
The speaker conveyed that technology is required in science experiments. One of technology usage in science experiment is the Computer Based Experiment System (CBES). The CBES was demonstrated for analyzing the movement graphic and heart rate measurement. In addition, the speaker also explained about physics phenomenon in everyday life.
During the practices session, participants were divided into 4 groups and guided by our team to perform experiments. Experiments were conducted from table to table. After finishing a certain experiment in a certain table, each group move to another table to perform another experiment. The experiments conducted were:
- Practice Module I, using the CoachLab II/II+ interfaces to perform physics experiments that include: measurement of dynamic cart position; measurement of object mass in the air and in the water
- Practice Module II, using the EuroLab interfaces to perform biology experiments that include: measurement of heart rate; measurement of electricity on an orange fitted with zinc and copper; measurement of oxygen level inside a plastic bag which was used for breathing
- Practice Module III, using the EuroSense interfaces to perform physics experiments that include: experiment of "Seeing Sound" by using tuning fork and resonance box; similar experiment to see the wave of sound beats; measurement with a trigger, which was measuring the temperature of human hand grip
- Pratice Module IV, using the MoLab interfaces to perform chemistry experiments that include: acid-base titration (stomach model and heartburn treatment)
In addition to experiencing interesting science experiment practices by using the CBES, participants were also allowed to install the Coach6 Lite to their own computers to try and learn the software.
Our next training will be on biology, under the theme of “Circulatory System Physiology”. This training will be held on September 20, 2014, with Dra. Soesy Asiyah, M.Si. as the speaker. (
