To improve science education quality in schools, PUDAK SCIENTIFIC has conducted workshop regarding the importance of using and developing science teaching aids in accordance with the 2013 curriculum for Junior High and High Schools. This workshop was conducted at Pudak Scientific's Science Laboratorium Training Room, Gedebage, Bandung on Saturday, November 30, 2013.
We organized this workshop as teaching aids manufacturer in Indonesia. The participants of this Laboratory Management Workshop were science teachers and laboratory assistants from various regions of Indonesia, including the province of West Java, Central Java, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Jakarta and Aceh.
Workshop participants were excited in attending this workshop because they were very enthusiastic in exploring the science teaching aids provided in the workshop that had never been done in their schools. Other than using teaching aids, participants were also required to be able to manage laboratory, understand the safety and security in a science laboratory, simple repairment of laboratory equipments. Various degrees of chemical ingredients were also explained to them, which include chemicals of Students’ Degree, Chemical Pure (CP) and Pure Analysis (PA).
Some experiments were also performed in this workshop, such as:
- Basic mechanical measurement (by using calipers and micrometer screw), basic electrical measurement (by using basic meter, multi meter and power supply test)
- Basic technique of chemical solution production experiments of solids and liquids, basic technique of chemical tools usage (filtration, grinding, dilution)
- Dry preparation making experiment, technique of using microscope, and measurement of respiratory rate on insects.
Participants were also excited in trying some of our teaching aids that were exhibited on this workshop, that include:

By this workshop, it is expected that teachers and laboratory assistants can properly manage laboratory equipments in their schools. Therefore the culture of practice-based science that may activate the student’s psychomotor will be applied in accordance to the 2013 curriculum.
