"In relation to the learning process in school, many parents still ask their children about their cognitive aspects not the psychomotor", said Dr. Lilik Hasanah, M.Si., a lecturer at the Department of Physics, FPMIPA, of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung, the speaker on this training of "Training of Mechanics Practices on Physics Learning in School", Saturday, February 22nd, 2014 ago.

"What is your rank in school?" She continued to give example of questions frequently asked by parents to their children.

Dr. Lilik Hasanah said that the actual learning process is not only of cognitive, but must be based on three elements, which are the affective, cognitive and psychomotor. Thus the innovative, creative, and affective personality will be developed in the students’ selves.

The teachers attended this training - who come from West Java, Banten, and Central Java - were very enthusiastic in participating in this training. This training was presenting materials about introduction and maintenance of the tools associated with the concept of mechanics in physics learning in school, and also practicing how to use it.

One of the participants said that this training has added the teachers’ knowledge in school’s lab equipment. Actually, many schools have had practical equipment, but is rarely or never used. This happens to be usual because of the teacher’s lack knowledge regarding the proper use of the practice equipments.

In this activity, participants perform various mechanics practices, that include:

• Calculating the fluid flow in Bernoulli tube
• Calculating the constant value of spring by using the Hooke's law concept
• Calculating the vibration period on the spiral spring
• Determining the rate of motion of the dynamic cart for the Uniform Rectilinear Motion and Accelerated Uniform Motion
• Calculating the acceleration of free fall motion using the dynamic cart
• Calculating the basic frequency and the harmonic frequency of standing waves on a string.
