The training in the theme of Computer Based Experiment System was held on May 10, 2014 in Pudak Training Center. Acting as the speaker was Dr. Hendro, M.Si. - a lecturer of ITB.
The training was begun by delivering materials about science experiments by using the supporting tools such as sensors, interface, and the software for the computer based science experiment. A science experiment on electromagnetic induction, hot water decreasing temperature by metal cooling was also demonstrated. The participants were very enthusiastic in following this activity, a lot of interaction occurred during the demonstration.
"It is very difficult to measure the voltage value when a magnet passing through a coil. By using the software and the aid of a sensor and an interface, now we can see the graph produced when a magnet is passing through a coil". Dr. Hendro said.
On the next session, participants were given chances to do some computer based experiments such as acid-base titration, dynamic cart motion, sound beat, solution temperature measurement, and tuning fork sound measurement.
One of the participants said: "Technology has been advanced rapidly from time to time. This will impact various fields including education. Therefore, like it or not, education should adapt the technology development, such as the use of experiment tools that are integrated into computers". |
