Training of Physics Practice Tools on Fluid and Heat Concept

A physics training was recently held again. The training in the theme of Physics Practice Training on Fluid and Heat Concept in School was held on July 17, 2014 at the Science Lab. of Pudak Training Center.

Some of practice done includes:
  • Archimedes experiment
  • Hydraulic jack principles experiment
  • Communicating vessel experiment
  • Measuring the pressure in the liquid
  • Observing and measuring length expansion of various metal (iron, aluminum and copper)
  • Understanding the basic principle of water pump using Hydrostatic and Heat Kit
  • Observing the symptom of gas convection
  • Observing the symptom of liquid convection
  • Measuring the specific heat of solid substance using calorimeter
  • Determining the value of viscosity coefficient of glycerin
  • Observing the process that occurred on a steam engine
  • Measuring the water flow on Bernoulli tool
  • Determining the value of pressure using manometer
"The Physics practice on fluid and heat was fun". One of the participant said in the sideline of the training activity. Physics experiment of fluid and heat is fun,” said one of the participants during the workshop.

The participants were very enthusiastic in doing the experiments prepared. One participant said that learning physic should be accompanied by experiment for student’s to better understand the concept being studied. However, it is an obstacle when the school does not have the educational aids required to do the experiment.

On this occasion, Pudak team also encouraged and motivated participants to have as much as possible experiments in their school. One of the ways to have experiments is by exploring the teacher’s creativity in for providing the simple educational aids by using the everyday ingredient.
