The workshop of optic experiment tools in the optic concept in school was held on June 27, 2015 at Pudak Training Center (PTC), Jl. Mekar Raya Kav. 12 Gedebage, Bandung, West Java. This training was attended by teachers from West Java, Banten, and Bengkulu.
The purpose of this training was to improve teacher’s knowledge regarding experimental tools usage in school and as a forum to exchange information about science school experiment among them. Pudak Scientific team conveyed that many experiment tools in school were abandoned because teachers had no idea how to use those tools.
In this workshop, Janto V. Sulungbudi, a physics lecturer of Universitas Katolik Parahyangan explained about various concepts related to optic and its applications.
Participants were also invited to visit Pudak Scientific’s factory to witness the production process. Next activity was doing experiments related to the optic concepts.
One participant said that in school physics was quite difficult to be learned because the teaching process was only lecturing. Learning physics through experiment will help students in understanding the concept learned. Another participant wished similar workshop could be held in other regions and attended by MGMP members of a certain learning subject.
