Renewable energy is a topic of conversation as the effect of global warming issue. In recent decades, various kinds of limitless energy resources or recyclable energy resources have been developed. Therefore, Pudak Scientific took this issue as the theme for the “Workshop of Renewable Energy Educational Aids Usage” that took place on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Pudak Training Center (PTC), Gedebage, Bandung. The purpose of this workshop was to provide early introduction to the renewable energy and the importance of it for future energy supply.
This workshop attended by participants, who are teachers and laboratory assistants of schools and universities from various cities in Indonesia, was held in two sessions, which were speaker’s presentation in the first session and experiments using the renewable educational aids in the second session. During the first session, Drs. Janto V. Sulungbudi, a physics lecturer of Universitas Parahyangan Bandung, talked about renewable energy available in Indonesia and its variety. He also gave information on about how to effectively and efficiently store energy. It was expected participants will be able to understand how renewable energy is processed and stored to make it ready to use.
In the second session, participants were invited to understand deeper about the renewable energy simulator and had some simulation using the tool that included:
- The utilization of wind energy into electricity
- The utilization of light energy into electricity
- Bio-fuel making by mineral free water to produce hydrogen by the electrolysis principles
This workshop ended at 17.00 western Indonesian time, participants seemed very satisfied after attending this workshop. One participant conveyed that this workshop was very useful and interesting .
Pudak Scientific wished by attending this workshop, participants will be able to enhance students’ awareness regarding renewable energy and encourage them to have more concern towards renewable energy, thus will make effects to our national energy endurance in the future.
