Pudak Scientific has been regularly organizing workshop science laboratory management to help teachers and laboratory assistants in using and managing their laboratory optimally.

On December 5, 2015, Saturday, Pudak Scientific held the “Workshop of Science Laboratory Management for Teachers and Laboratory Assistants” at Pudak Training Center, Gedebage, Bandung. This workshop attended by 8 teachers and laboratory assistant from Jakarta and Bandung.

This workshop began at 09.00 western Indonesian time started by presentation by Lubna Baradja, M.Si. She is a chemistry lecturer of Institut Teknologi Bandung, have many experiences in chemistry laboratory management, and often visit schools’ science laboratories in Indonesia. She explained about the laboratory administration management, laboratory waste management, and the importance of safety in laboratory by knowing the chemistry ingredients and using the available resources. At the end of her session, she demonstrated the basic technique of chemistry equipment usage.

The next session was factory visit and experiments. The experiments conducted included:

• Basics of solution making, by making copper sulphate solution (CuSO4)
• Further studies of basic meter
• Power supply test
• Insect respiration experiment by using respirometer
• Trick to do leaf’s stomata observation
• Computer Based Experiment System (CBES) demonstration

Participants were very enthusiastic in following every session of this workshop. This workshop ended at 17.00 western Indonesian time. 

We wish this workshop will be useful for teachers and laboratory assistants attended. Therefore, they will be able to properly manage their school laboratory for a better teaching and learning process.
