Workshop on Computer Based Experiment System has been held

For the second time this year, workshop on the use of Computer Based Experiment System (CBES) for scientific learning in schools has been held. The workshop was held on August 22, 2013 and took place at Pudak Scientific's Science Lab. Room, Gedebage - Bandung. Acting as the speaker was Dr. Hendro, M.Si.

Participants came from several schools in West Jawa, those are:
  1. SMP Negeri 4 - Darangdan
  2. SMA Negeri 4, SMP negeri 18 - Tasikmalaya
  3. MA YPPA - Cipulus
  4. MA YPIA - Cikeris
  5. SMK Lugina - Rancaekek
  6. SMK Gema Nusantara 5 & 6 - Cikalong Wetan
  7. SMP Al-Azhar Syifa Budi
  8. SD Negeri Solokan - Garut
  9. SMP IT Adzkia
The speaker talked about basic principles of CBES equipments for conducting scientific experiments.

Beside theories, participants were given the chance to try CBES tools by themselves. The Coach 6 Lite software was installed on each participant's computer/laptop prior to the activity, so that participants were able to directly try the features of the software.

Some of the experiments demonstrated and done by participants were:
  • Measuring the voltage of lemon battery
  • Measuring the photosynthesis rate
  • Measuring the change of heat on muscle
  • Measuring heart beat on relax state
  • Measuring light intensity
  • Sound beat
  • Verification of Archimedes and Ohm laws
Through the experiments, we hope that the participants can have hands-on experience on the advantage and simplicity in conducting scientific experiments using the CBES equipments, which has greater advantages such as better experiment results as compared with conventional experiments.
